How this directory works

Every town listed here has at least one Limited Traffic Zone, and every one of them is drawn on the interactive map. Choose a region below to see its restricted towns together with their active hours where those are known, and a link to the Comune’s own page where they are not.

The cities visitors ask about most — Rome, Florence, Milan, Naples, Bologna, Pisa, Siena and others — have their own detailed pages covering how their zones are laid out, where to park outside them, and what catches drivers out locally. They are linked directly under each region.

If you are new to all of this, the driving guides explain what a ZTL is, how the cameras work, what a fine costs and how to reach a hotel inside a zone without one. The short version: never drive into an Italian historic centre unless you are certain it is open — park on the edge and walk in.
