Driving in Lombardy
Lombardy combines Milan’s layered charging and low-emission schemes with dozens of smaller restricted centres, from the lake towns of Como, Bellagio and Sirmione to Bergamo, Brescia and Mantua. Milan is the exception in Italy: its Area C is a charge most drivers can pay to enter, whereas an ordinary ZTL simply bars unauthorised vehicles outright.
